I know Thanksgiving is this week and I am looking foreword to it, but I already put up my Christmas tree(s)! If you know me at all you know I usually refuse to do anything Christmas before Thanksgiving. I made an exception this year because I have company coming in the weekend after Thanksgiving and we will be gone all Thanksgiving weekend. I wanted to get a head start!
Last year after Christmas I went a little crazy with the after Christmas sales and I found a great large 9 foot slender tree for a great price. I also got a lot of lime green and red tree decorations as well as some new champagne colored decorations. My old tree is 7 1/2 feet tall and a little wider and I have added to it every year. It is a gold, champagne, and maroon color scheme. I wanted my 2nd tree to be a more fun whimsical lime green and red. Once I got everything out this year I decided to put my old decorations, the more traditional ones, on my new 9 foot tree because I felt like the champagne and maroon colors went best with my living room and that is the only place a 9 foot tree would fit. So I put my fun lime green and red ornaments on my older tree and put it near my kitchen. I will show you the smaller tree later but today I wanted to show you my new tree with my older traditional ornaments. I did get a few new picks and large ornaments last year that were fun to get out this year because I always forget what I buy and it is so fun to see what I got. So after all that rambling… Here is my traditional tall tree!
The tree was pre-lit which was the most amazing thing for me because my other one is not and that is one less step! Then I put the golden mesh around the tree, followed by the ribbon, picks, and other large ornaments. I did not put any of my smaller glass ball ornaments on the tree this year. I got some really big ornaments and I love the look of all the huge ornaments and picks. I think it makes it look so sophisticated. I think my dream job would be to decorate Christmas trees for department stores. I enjoy it so much it is not even funny! It would be like a dream for someone to provide all the wonderful decorations and ask me to put them on the tree. I would be in heaven!!!
Here is the top. It is a combination of a bunch of pics.
Here is a close up of some of my favorite things arranged in my tree.
Yay for Christmas time! I just love Christmas trees!
Have a great day and a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I love your new tree. We have a 9 ft. slim and I even use the same color scheme. I really love those stars you added. Can’t wait to see the other, I’m sure it looks fab too. I’ll be working on mine this weekend.
Gorgeous!! Absolutely gorgeous!
I love what you did to the top with the sprays by the star. I did something similar to mine this year!
And we have a skinny tall tree too. They look very department store to me.
