I saw a tutorial on these from Prudent Baby. I thought they were so cute and I had to try them. I have a friend who has an embroidery machine so I got a great deal on getting all of them monogrammed! The first thing I did was wash my fabric. I did not have a lot of extra fabric to spare so I was worried about it fraying in the wash. My mom thought of a way to prevent this. I sewed a quick stitch around the entire pieces of fabric as close to the edge as I could before I washed it. This helped to cut down on the fraying a lot! After it was washed and dried, I cut my fabric. I made 4 of these so I cut 4 cotton pieces 21in x 11in. Then I cut 4 terry cloth pieces 21in x 11in.
At this point I took the cotton pieces to my friend and she monogrammed the fronts before I sewed them together. She did a great job!
Then I pinned right sides together so that the monogrammed front side was facing the terry cloth. I made a regular stitch about 1/4 inches from the edge.
I left about a 3 inch opening in one of the edges so that I could turn it inside out.
Once I turned it inside out, I ironed it flat. This was important because the edges look really rounded and I had to make sure I had a flat edge before the next part.
Once it was ironed I changed the stitch on my machine to a zigzag, you can do any fun stitch you want. I changed mine for every burp cloth because I was just playing around and why not? I used the fancier stitch with a green thread and stitched about a 1/4 inch all the way around. When I got to the opening I made sure the edges were tucked under and you can not even tell it was an opening.
I am very happy with the way they turned out. They are not perfectly straight and the stitches are not all evenly spaced but they got better as I went along. It was a fun project to try and as I get better this would be a great gift idea for other people.
I am sure we will get lots of use out of these soft burp cloths!
Have a good day!

These turned out so good! I really like the one whole side being your decorative fabric.
